At Kangaroos Preschool, we promote curiosity, encourage imagination, and foster social and emotional development through a combination Reggio Emilia educational environment to prepare our future innovators for their journey of inspired lifelong learning. Located in the Sunnyside district of San Francisco, we offer a creative, age-appropriate, safe atmosphere for children between 2-6 years. Breakfast and afternoon snacks are provided by the school; a catered lunch option is available for an additional fee or is provided by the families. Enrichment classes are offered weekly at no additional fee. Please check out our Enrichment page for more information. Potty training is not required!
We have four classrooms that offer age-appropriate curriculum to enhance the educational experience and focus on the individual child's needs while also focusing on the whole child approach. Our class sizes range between 8-12 students per group. We offer a flexible schedule to meet the needs of families looking for both full- and part-time care options. Each age group is welcome to attend 2, 3 or 5 days a week, with or without extended care.

Our Facility!
Located on Monterey Boulevard in Glen Park’s Sunnyside neighborhood, our preschool is a central and convenient location close to major freeways, BART, City College, several elementary/middle schools, and in close proximity to Bernal Heights, Noe Valley, Miraloma and West Portal/Forest Hill, Ingleside, and Sunset Districts.
We have a dedicated two-car loading zone for easy pick-up and drop-off. Each group has its own classroom equipped with learning and exploration areas, pretend play, science, kitchen, reading, sensory, building, and a shared STEM and art room. We also have two separate outdoor play areas with play structures, shaded area, tricycles, ball play, and gross motor play.
Early Childhood Education Program
Our curriculum is a combination of Reggio Emilia, Learning through Play, and Preschool Learning Foundations following the California Department of Education preschool program curriculum requirements. Daily lesson plans are introduced using structured themes with the children’s interests in mind. Children are given opportunities to learn about themselves through play and interactions with others while engaging in activities which focus on Social-Emotional Development, Language and Literacy, Mathematics, and Performing Arts.
